First Night of Hanukkah

Take these longest nights,
like a staircase to the starlit sky,
like a winding path
towards that small seed of light,
the coming sun,
the morning breaking into
a remembering…
Falling into velvet slumber,
dreaming
of your true self
the one who greets you
with the waking day,
as you travel on
this long dark road home,
filled with light…

This is so beautiful Lea.
I was trying to choose a favorite line,
but it can't be done...the poem is so beautifully written
that I cannot dare remove one phrase.
