Participants in each class spent the day learning about the history and mythology of labyrinths, how labyrinths are now being used in diverse contemporary settings, and learning the basic guidelines for creating their own personal labyrinth, as well as a 40-foot Rainbow Rope Classical Labyrinth for a community walk at the end of the day.

Fall 2006

All the same designs...

yet each labyrinth is unique...

to the place and shape
of the maker's choosing.

Some chose the dried areas
of grass in full sun, while others chose the green grass in shaded areas.

Taking up the rope...

can be as important...

as laying the rope down.

Fall 2005

Attention to where and how...

you place your rope...

for your own labyrinth is always a journey of discovery.

Making,
then walking your own labyrinth,
from paper to the ground,
can orient you to the wonder of creativity and the beauty
that surrounds us,
as well as residing within us.

Summer 2005

On grass and cement,
participants chose where they were drawn to place their labyrinth design.

We all spent time exploring
each of the labyrinths.
Even though everyone used the same size rope, each labyrinth was unique and beautiful.

The class laid out a large Classical Rope Labyrinth to end the day with a community walk.

This labyrinth was easily taken up
at the end of our day,
as we were showered with
a blessing of June rain.
