Chartres Cathedral
We
are in the belly of the whale...
the eyehole opens
cascading light
of eight-hundred years...
Labyrinth leaping
upward in
joy-ecstatic
while our sight
plunges the depths,
the cells of our being
transformed,
changed forever...
We are in the
belly of the whale...
where whispers
of the ages
swirl in a spiral of dust and light
and cobwebs spin secrets
that sing in stone
and narrow passages
that open to God...
We are in the
belly of the whale...
and nothing is everything
and everything
is this moment
where time appears to stand still forever
and beckons us home
to the beauty of the ages
and the birth
of spirit into matter.
